Quality
The 990v6 combines a pigskin suede and mesh upper with a dual density midsole: FuelCell foam for propulsion over an ENCAP polyurethane rim for support. Materials are a clear step above standard sneakers, with dense suede and clean stitching throughout. Made in New England factories, it carries the fit and finish the line is famous for. The reflective accents are a nice functional touch for low light.
Value
Two hundred dollars is real money for sneakers, but the 990v6 earns it through materials, domestic manufacturing and longevity. Owners routinely get years of daily wear, which makes the cost per wear very reasonable. Cheaper New Balance models like the 2002R offer similar vibes for less, but they cannot match the 990’s materials or its made in USA story.
