Quick Take

The Charge 6 adds Google Maps, Wallet, and YouTube Music controls to Fitbit’s best tracker, with accurate heart rate and up to seven days of battery. The mandatory Google account and Premium paywalled insights are the main annoyances.

What We Like

  • Built in GPS tracks runs and rides without your phone
  • Up to 7 day battery life embarrasses most smartwatches
  • ECG, SpO2, and skin temperature sensors for deep health data
  • Google Wallet and Maps on the wrist add real convenience
  • Accurate heart rate that broadcasts to gym equipment

What We Don’t Like

  • Requires a Google account; old Fitbit accounts no longer work
  • Best insights like Daily Readiness need a Premium subscription
  • Proprietary charger instead of a standard USB cable
  • Small display is cramped for maps and notifications

Quality

The slim band style body is light and comfortable for sleep tracking, with an always on capable AMOLED display that is bright outdoors. The side button is a welcome return for navigation. Bands swap easily and Charge 5 bands carry over, protecting your accessory investment.

Value

At $159.95 it undercuts the Apple Watch SE and Galaxy Watch while outlasting both by days on a charge. Factor in the optional Premium subscription cost if you want the full insights suite; without it, the tracker is still excellent for workouts and sleep.

Who Should Buy It

Buy it if you want serious fitness tracking in a slim band and you are comfortable in Google’s ecosystem.

Who Should Skip It

Skip it if you want apps, calls, and a big screen; that is smartwatch territory.

FINAL VERDICT

The Charge 6 remains the fitness tracker sweet spot: deep sensors, real battery life, and smart features at a fair price. Google’s account requirement is a hurdle, but the hardware earns its place on the wrist.
