The Point III is knit from Rothy’s signature thread spun from plastic bottles, about 10 per pair, with a sweetheart topline and sculpted rubber outsole. The redesign adds a cushioned insole with real arch support and a lower V shaped vamp that elongates the leg. Construction is clean and consistent, and the whole shoe survives the washing machine, which is the party trick no leather flat can match.
Value
One hundred sixty five dollars buys a lot of flat, and leather options at this price last longer between washes. But no leather flat goes in the washing machine, and the Point III’s cost per wear drops fast if you commute in them daily. Think of them as the practical luxury flat, not the forever flat.
