Every pair is handcrafted in Port Washington, Wisconsin, and the welted construction means a cobbler can resole them for decades of wear. The finishing is clean and traditional: this is a shoe built on craft, not fashion cycles.
Value
Four hundred fifty dollars is a lot until you divide it by twenty years of resoles. Cheaper dress shoes with glued soles die in two to three years; the Park Avenue just needs new soles and polish. Watch for Allen Edmonds sales, which regularly knock 20 percent or more off, and the value becomes excellent.
