Quick Take
The third generation Apple TV 4K remains the smoothest streaming experience money can buy, with the best interface, the best remote, and rock solid performance. The catch is the June 2026 price increase to $249 for the 128GB Ethernet model, which makes an aging box feel expensive. It is still the pick for Apple households, just a harder sell than before.

Quality
The Apple TV 4K is a small black puck of premium minimalism: matte finish, silent operation, and a remote that finally feels good in the hand. Everything about the hardware feels considered, from the satisfying click of the remote to the instant app launches. It is four year old hardware that still feels faster than most brand new streaming sticks.
Value
At $249 the 128GB model costs $100 more than its 2022 launch price, which stings for unchanged hardware. Cheaper streamers from Roku and Amazon do the basics for under $50. What you are paying for is the interface speed, the remote, and deep Apple ecosystem integration. Refurbished units at $209 soften the blow if you can find them.
You’ll Love It If
Apple users who want the fastest interface, the best remote, and Thread plus Ethernet for a smart home hub.
Skip It If
Bargain hunters happy with a $50 streaming stick, or anyone who can wait for the rumored late 2026 refresh.
FINAL VERDICT
If you live in the Apple ecosystem, nothing else feels this good on the big screen. But with a rumored refresh coming and the price at an all time high, patient buyers should wait for a sale or the next model.
