Quick Take
The Bose SoundLink Flex sounds refined and looks classy, but it costs $159 while the $129.95 Flip 6 sounds bigger and plays just as tough. Unless you need the Bose mic for calls, the JBL wins on sound per dollar. This one is not close on value.

Quality
How they compare: both are superbly built, fabric wrapped, waterproof, and tough. The Flip 6 uses a two way system with a dedicated tweeter for crisp highs. The Flex uses a single transducer with Bose DSP for balanced mids. The JBL plays louder and bassier; the Bose sounds more refined at moderate volumes.
Value
Price comparison: at $129.95 versus $159, the Flip 6 saves you nearly thirty dollars while delivering more raw output. Both go on sale, but the JBL starts cheaper and discounts deeper. Value crown goes to JBL.
Who Should Buy It
Buy the Flip 6 if you want maximum party for minimum money.
Who Should Skip It
Skip the Flip 6 if speakerphone calls matter, and get the Bose.
FINAL VERDICT
The SoundLink Flex is the classier speaker, but the Flip 6 is the better buy: louder, cheaper, and tougher. Winner: JBL Flip 6.
