How they compare. The Roomba j7+ uses a camera for PrecisionVision obstacle avoidance and backs it with the famous P.O.O.P. pet waste guarantee, emptying into a Clean Base that holds 60 days of dirt. The Q8 Max answers with LiDAR navigation, simultaneous vacuuming and mopping with app controlled water flow, and 5,500 Pa of suction. The Roborock simply does more: it is a two in one cleaner with more modern navigation for less money.
Value
Price comparison. The Q8 Max at $599.99 costs $200 less than the j7+ at $799.99 while adding mopping and stronger suction. The Roomba’s pet waste guarantee has real value for dog owners, but it is a lot to pay for a vacuum only robot in 2026. On specs per dollar, Roborock runs away with it.
