A16 power, double the base storage at 128GB, and a $349 price. The default tablet pick is not close.

Quick Take
The 11th gen iPad is the best tablet value on the market by a wide margin. The A16 chip handles everything from streaming to gaming to schoolwork, storage now starts at a usable 128GB, and $349 is an absurdly good price for this level of polish. Nothing under $500 comes close.
What We Like
- A16 chip is fast enough for anything a casual user needs
- Base storage doubled to 128GB at the same $349 price
- Gorgeous 10.9 inch all screen design
- Touch ID in the power button is quick and reliable
- Unmatched tablet app library
What We Don’t Like
- No Apple Intelligence support on the A16 chip
- 60Hz non laminated display shows its budget roots
- First party keyboard and Pencil cost extra
- Still ships with a slow 20W charger in spirit if not in box

Full Review
Quality
It looks and feels like an iPad Pro from a few years ago: slim aluminum unibody, flat edges, thin bezels, and a solid reassuring heft. The 10.9 inch Liquid Retina display is bright and color accurate even without ProMotion, and the stereo speakers are surprisingly full. For $349, the fit and finish embarrasses every Android tablet near the price.
Value
At $349 this is the easiest recommendation in tablets, and it regularly drops to $279 during sales. Android tablets at this price cut corners on chips, displays, or update support; the iPad cuts none of them. The only reason to spend more is if you specifically need a faster chip, a better display, or Apple Intelligence.
Who Should Buy It
Families, students, travelers, and anyone who wants a dependable tablet for media, browsing, reading, and light work.
Who Should Skip It
Digital artists should step up to the iPad Air or Pro for the better display and Pencil Pro support, and anyone who needs Apple Intelligence needs an M chip iPad.
FINAL VERDICT
The 11th gen iPad is the best tablet for the money, and it is not particularly close. Fast chip, great display, fantastic app ecosystem, and a price that undercuts everything worth comparing it to. Buy this one unless you have a specific reason not to.
