The Galaxy S25 and Pixel 10 both cost $799, both promise seven years of updates, and both are excellent. The S25 wins on raw performance with its Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a smaller, lighter body. The Pixel 10 wins on cameras, with a 5x telephoto on the base model for the first time, plus Google’s best in class AI features. For most buyers, the Pixel 10 takes it.

Full Review
Quality
Both phones feel properly premium. The S25 is the sleeker object: 162 grams, Armor Aluminum, Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and a compact 6.2 inch footprint. The Pixel 10 is chunkier at 204 grams with a 6.3 inch display, but its polished aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 feel just as high end. Build quality is a wash; size preference decides it.
Value
Both phones list at $799, and both are routinely discounted: the S25 has been seen around $650 and the Pixel 10 around $599 during sales. At full price the Pixel 10 gives you more camera hardware for the money, while the S25 gives you more processing power. On sale, whichever is cheaper is the better buy, and both are steals under $650.
Who Should Buy It
Pick the Pixel 10 if cameras, AI features, and clean software matter most. Pick the Galaxy S25 if you want the fastest chip, a smaller phone, and Samsung’s feature packed One UI.
Who Should Skip It
If you want the absolute best of either brand, the Pixel 10 Pro and Galaxy S25 Ultra are meaningful upgrades. Budget buyers should look at the Pixel 9a or Galaxy A series instead.
FINAL VERDICT
The Pixel 10 wins this matchup for most people. Its camera system is simply better, with the new 5x telephoto and Google’s computational photography magic, and its AI features are genuinely useful. The Galaxy S25 is the better pick for performance enthusiasts and small phone lovers, but the Pixel 10 is the smarter $799 spent.
