Quick Take
The Ridge Wallet is the minimalist wallet that started a thousand imitators, and it still sets the standard. Two aluminum plates and an elastic band hold up to 12 cards in a package that disappears into a front pocket. Fanning out one card takes practice, and the elastic will stretch with time, but the design works.

What We Don’t Like

- Elastic stretches over time and needs replacing
- Steep price for two plates and a strap

Full Review
Quality
The plates are 6061 T6 aluminum, anodized for scratch resistance, joined by screws with replaceable elastic. The 2.0 update shaved 10% of the weight and improved the cash strap and attachments. Everything feels precise and solid, with no leather to crack or stitching to fail. Replacement parts are cheap and Ridge includes the tiny screwdriver in the box.
Value
Ninety five dollars is a lot for a wallet, and cheaper metal card holders do the same job for half the price. What Ridge sells is the refinement: better elastic, real warranty support, and a huge range of finishes. If you keep wallets for years, the cost fades. If you lose wallets, buy the cheap one.
Who Should Buy It
Buy it if you carry a few cards and some cash and want the slimmest possible setup.
Who Should Skip It
Skip it if you carry lots of cash, coins, or a dozen membership cards, since minimalism is the whole point.
FINAL VERDICT
The Ridge Wallet is not a miracle, it is just a very good execution of a simple idea. It made the bulky wallet feel obsolete, and that alone justifies its fame. Worth it for minimalists, overkill for everyone else.
